While we pride ourselves on the fully equipped kitchen at Sea-Renity—complete with double ovens, a large island breakfast bar, and an abundance of crockery for those big family dinners—taking a break from cooking is an essential part of any holiday. Recently, we took a short drive out of Sidmouth to visit Coldharbour Field Kitchen, and it was such a delightful experience that we simply had to share it with you.

Located just a brief journey from our quiet Sidmouth cul-de-sac, Coldharbour Field Kitchen sits in a fantastic elevated position above the Otter Valley. The moment you arrive, the panoramic views across the rolling Devon countryside grab your attention. It is a wonderfully relaxed spot, perfect for a leisurely summer lunch or a hearty breakfast before a day of exploring the nearby countryside. During our visit, we were incredibly impressed by the quality and flavour of the menu. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, celebrating the very best of what the West Country has to offer. Whether you fancy a light summer salad, a substantial burger made with locally sourced meat, or simply a brilliant cup of coffee alongside a generous slice of homemade cake, the menu caters brilliantly to all tastes. It is the kind of place where you want to linger over your meal, enjoying the good company and the spectacular scenery.
Returning to Your Coastal Home from Home
After a satisfying meal and perhaps a wander around the surrounding area, returning to Sea-Renity is a breeze. Because we have guaranteed off-street parking for two cars on our private driveway, you never have to worry about finding a space when you get back. You can simply pull up, head inside, and relax. If the summer weather is playing along, our fully enclosed rear garden is a wonderful sun trap where you can sit with a cool drink and unwind in complete privacy.
Even if the unpredictable British weather decides to turn, your stay remains completely stress-free and weather-proof. You can retreat to the cosy lounge, which features a large 43-inch Smart TV, a selection of DVDs, and plenty of board games to keep everyone entertained. Plus, if you end up caught in a sudden summer shower while out and about, our utility room is fitted with a washer/dryer, making it incredibly easy to refresh your clothes. We have tried to ensure that every practical detail is covered, right down to providing hairdryers in all three bedrooms, so you can pack light, avoid the usual travel stress, and focus entirely on enjoying your time away.
